Notes
I’ve added the chart that I’m using. I don’t want to give away the whole pattern so if you’re a beginner you might find it difficult to sub in but it’s the best I can do! Some guidelines to help:
- The width of the skull image is the same as that of the flower image.
- The dotted pattern starts just outside the boundaries of chart that I’ve shared i.e. the first column of dots is in column 10.
- If you are following the second chart provided in the pressed flowers pattern, row 1, column 1 corresponds with row 1, column 5 of my chart.
- There are 2 MC stitches on either side of the 5 CC stitches in the first 2 rows of the skull chart, instead of 1.
- In the flower chart round 15 is a solid MC round, but I have some CC slipped stitches to make the skull ‘teeth’.
- In the first 2 rows of the skull chart (CC), the 5 squares above the ‘teeth’ are worked as stockinette stitches, i.e. the dotted pattern is excluded for these 5 stitches.
Sizing Notes
I cast on 64 stitches for the cuff, 20 rounds of 2x2 cuff. Increased to 80 for the leg. The skull is worked 4 times around with 13 stitches between each skull.
6 skulls for the leg. On the last motif I worked round 15 as normal, then round 16 on the first needle only before working shadow wrap heel on second needle with added strand of mohair. Heel split was 14, 12, 14 (I think 15, 10, 15 would have been better).
8 skulls for the foot. On the last motif I worked 8 decreases into round 16 to get down to 72 sts. Worked another round in plain stockinette with 8 decreases to reach 64 sts. Then started standard wedge heel with strand of mohair.
