Knitting: Brooch
I designed this poppy brooch in remembrance of my Nan who taught me to knit. It iss also listed as a pattern design on my website www.twigsknits.com for Remembrance Sunday 2011.
Knitting: Cowl
This lovely cowl and matching headband knitting pattern uses a yarn called Sirdar Freya which is soft brushed cotton. Has a warm and soft feel when worn and yet light and airy due to the lace construction. The yarn is described as a chunky weight yarn, and is discontinued now, however, you could use an alternative chunky weight yarn with a brus...
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These lovely soft merino wrist warmers are designed for beginner knitters who want a simple pattern to follow.
Knitting: Cowl
This Cowl is knitted using one skein of Rowan Fine Art sock yarn, using circular or straight knitting needles. Other sock yarns can be substituted as the gauge is flexible. You can also make it as long/wide as you wish. Sock yarn is stretchy, with this in mind, this pattern is a tighter knit, (more like a buff style of cowl).
Knitting: Cowl
Its a simple lace knit, which can be made larger if required. It is suitable for knitters who have a knowledge of basic knitting stitches and a good starting lace pattern.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
This pattern uses Sock yarn - any sock yarn that is 3/4ply can be used. I have knitted these wrist warmers in Regia 4ply sock yarn successfully (see photos) Opal sock yarn and WYS Signature 4ply with similar results.
Knitting: Tote
The bag design has cable stitching to the front, and moss stitch to the back, sides and strap of the bag.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
The yarn I used was Rowan Frost which knits up in aran weight. The wrist warmers can be adjusted to a longer length.
Knitting: Cowl
This pattern is designed using Rowan Frost, which is an aran weight yarn. I designed the pattern to create a neck construction which is a very different from a more traditional cowl shape. The finished cowl has a V shaping at the front and flat panel at the back, and works perfectly with V shaped coats/jackets where you would like to have a war...
Knitting: Tote
This pretty lace bag is suitable for knitters with some experience of lace knitting. The bag is quite simple in construction.
Knitting: Headband
This headband takes one 50g ball of Rowan Frost. It is 80% viscose and 20% alpaca. Has a lovely soft light feel when knitting up yet feels warm and snuggly at the same time. Perfect for winter warming accessories. You could, of course use a different yarn of a similar gauge, but I would advise to checking your progress while knitting.
Knitting: Legwarmers
This pattern was originally designed as a commission for a charity to raise money for ‘Cystic Fibrosis Trust’ in 2012 to enable knitters to knit the legwarmer and then sell them to raise money for this charity during a trampoline competition. The pattern was listed on my website (twigsknits) and also on Ravelry as a free download. It featured i...
Knitting: Toy Plant
This knitted halloween pumpkin I designed for a yarn bombing in the local woods. Its a lovely design, quick and easy to knit using yarn from my stash. Would suit beginner knitters.
Knitting: Cowl
This snood/cowl can also be knitted as a wrap or wide scarf, or as a scarflette.
Knitting: Scarf
Inspired by foxgloves that appear during the summer months over local heathland, I designed this scarf for wearing during the cooler summer evenings. The yarn is pre-beaded and is light and smooth. The pattern is suitable for knitters with a little knowledge of lace knitting.
Knitting: Scarf
The yarn is locally sourced handspun 4ply yarn, but any handspun 4ply or DK yarn can be used for this pattern. It is suitable for knitters with some experience of lace knitting.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This yarn can be substituted, it is 100g - 600m laceweight. It is suitable for knitters with experience of lace knitting stitches and working with very fine lace weight yarn.
Knitting: Cleaning - Other, Washcloth / Dishcloth
These lovely patterns are part of a set knitted in cotton. There is a separate pattern for the cotton wash bag that matches.
Knitting: Headband
This headband is simple moss stitch and can be suitable for beginners, it is also easy to adjust in size and substitute the yarn.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Its a simple lace construction in Rowan Lima yarn, however, the yarn can be substituted for other yarns of a similar weight.
Knitting: Tote
I designed this berry bag after being inspired by the colour and shape of hawthorn berries I saw in my local woodland. It uses a Rowan DK yarn but alternative yarns can be used as gauge, is not specific.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Hi! This shawl design I originally published in 2010 and is available as a PDF Ravelry download. It is a popular design that has been copied and adapted by many, which I’m very flattered by. It is a simply pattern, that is easy to follow and adaptable, it is also quite a small knit so suitable for travel knitting.
