What makes the sweater Betagen by designer Theresa Shingler so much fun to knit is its Chevron pattern. The classic zigzag colour pattern is popular in fashion design to create statement pieces. This deceptively simple top is an easy-to-wear, contemporary design that showcases a lattice and fan-lace shoulder. The exaggerated raglan decreases form a butterfly-like line that gives this must-have top an added dose of elegance.

In the dark days of late autumn, there is nothing I like more mid-afternoon as the light starts to fade that a cup of coffee and a small sweet treat. Although the effect is richly textured and looks complicated, it’s deceptively simple with only one colour used per round as the pattern is created using slipped stitches.

I designed these Wristers to be a cheerful counterpoint to the dark, cold days of January. I must admit that after the excitement of New Year and the holidays, and a glut of present knitting, there is nothing I like better than a cheerful and selfish knit for myself. These little Foxy Friends knits are just the thing to add a touch of woodland ...
