Tip: How to Get Hearts ❤️
… . To see photoless projects you have to specifically choose that filter. We’ve also noticed that projects with photos have more hearts on average; Ravelers are more likely to favorite a project they can see. (Photo uploading blog posts here and here.)
Make It Searchable
The project gallery isn’t the only way a fellow Raveler might stumble across your project, it might come up in our projects advanced search. Here are some ways to make sure your project shows up in appropriate searches.

New testing feature: Swatches!
… Swatch: Sherbert will put a sheep illustration (her name is Sherbert!) at the bottom right of the Swatches page. Normally we'll run Swatches for a finite amount of time before deciding whether to make it into a permanent feature, but Sherbert will be in the Swatches section forever so that Ravelers can try it out at any time.
As we get data from running Swatches, we may make some adjustments to the functionality of the Swatcher, but wanted to share our new process with you right away. We're …

Thursday Tip: Faves, Queue, Library, Shopping Cart
… you like to add a lot of things to your Ravelry favorites, bundles are a great way to organize the faves you might want to find again later.
Hearts! Sometimes I like to add Ravelers’ projects to my favorites simply because it gives the Raveler a little heart on that project. Even if I don’t want to find it again, I like to spread a little love!
You can search your favorites both from the favorites section in your Notebook and through filters in the advanced search.
As you can see, the advanced …

It will only show to you, so if you want to remember it or share it with others, you'll want to make a note of it. If you want others to see it on your profile page, you can add it to your About Me section or one of the custom fields under "Add three of your own things" when editing your profile.

Thursday Tip: Requesting Features in The List
… ! Lots of great ideas were suggested in the early days of Ravelry and just because we haven’t gotten to them yet doesn’t mean we never will (note from Livia: I’m already working on some!). On the other hand, an item being on The List doesn’t mean it will definitely happen.
We love having feedback from Ravelers on the changes you’d like to see (or not see!) and it is a key part of our discussions about how we spend our time. We feel lucky to have a community that cares so much about Ravelry and …

Thursday Tip: Shop Tab
… eye on the minimart in the coming months – we have some new products coming soon!
Next up, let’s visit the middle column.
The marketplace is a Ravelry advertising slot available for purchase. You can visit it to find out about the shops your fellow Ravelers run, or click on an individual ad to visit it. One thing I like about the marketplace is you can filter the ads by category and also by advertisers local to you, in your friends, or in your groups.
Finally, let’s visit the right-most column …

… formed check them out and see if one seems like a good fit for you! We also have loads of active craftalong groups to join if you’d like to participate in crafting with other Ravelers in all kinds of different ways. If you are new to groups on Ravelry, they are started and run by Ravelers, so each one has its own tone and community. There are literally thousands of welcoming and friendly groups who would love to have you (yes you!) join and share with them. Now is a great time to jump in!

You can of course easily find your project in your Notebook on your phone and edit it at any time.

Thursday Tip: Introducing Purchase Finder
… a survey, looking at analytics, tracking how a page or feature is currently being used, etc. (If you're interested in this stuff and want to get nerdy about it, this article is my UX research touchstone.) It's all about getting a lay of the land so that I can make informed design decisions that will definitely benefit the Ravelers.
In this case, we already had a lot of research on hand: Sarah shared insights with me about the most common issues people had with finding their purchases, and Casey …

We are so very thankful for each and every Raveler who is a part of our community. You each make Ravelry what it is with every project, pattern, forum post and bundle that you add.
