Pattern description from Knitting America: “This pattern comes from How to Use Florence Knitting Silk No. 4, 1882.”

Materials: “1 ounce Florence Knitting Silk No. 300, and five No. 19 knitting needles.”

Note: Judging from the photograph in the book, the No. 19 knitting needles recommended in the pattern are not the same as US 19 (15mm) knitting needles we use today.

No. 19 knitting needles would be the equivalent of US 00000, or 1 mm needles today. The silk would probably be around the same thickness of fine sewing thread.

No yardage or sizes given in this pattern.

This pattern may be found in the book Knitting America by Susan M. Strawn, published by Voyager Press in 2007 on page 30.
