I adore the silky softness of a kid mohair and silk blend yarn. And (as you can tell), I’m always drawn to lovely lace patterns. This stole features not just one, but two breathtakingly beautiful lace stitch patterns, artfully combined and gorgeously presented when knit up in the kid mohair and silk blend yarn.

A generous bottom border is worked in the first lace stitch, which is simple and repetitive to knit, and creates very pretty results.

This lace is then only continued along the sides to allow the water lily motifs to take center stage as they run down the center of the stole.

The stole finishes with the same generous lace border to mirror the beginning.

With some patient and very enjoyable knitting, you will have a lovely, ultra-lightweight, and incredibly soft and warm stole that doubles as a luxurious scarf (my preferred way of wearing!).

Chocolate sample knit in Knitpicks Aloft. Similar yarns listed as suggested substitutes.

GAUGE: Approx 16 sts = 4 ¼“ / 11 cm and 32 rows = 7” / 18 cm in Vine Lace patt, gently stretched to block, then allowed to relax.
