27 Knots is a DK weight sock suitable for boots! The name came from the cable pattern. It looks like it might be blowing away…so I came up with 27 knots! My husband is a Tugboat Captain so we measure wind in “knots” or nautical miles per hour. 27 knots is Gale Force, strong enough to blow away lots of stuff, including a cable. So there’s a complicated story for an odd name. The pattern include instructions for altering the length of the sock so that you can customize the fit!
