Mouassine is the name of one of the oldest parts of the Marrakech medina. The original name of the district was Houmat Abi Abidan, but during the 16th century the Saadian rulers changed the name to Mouassine. At the Musee Mouassine I stumbled upon a beautiful hand woven carpet in yellow colours with decorative ornaments of black and white. That carpet is the inspiration for this sock design.
