Acadia is a handknit sweater design worked seamlessly in the round from the top down. Short rows are worked back and forth to create a higher neckline in back and then the yoke is worked until the sleeves are separated from the body. The colorwork pattern in the yoke is worked in only two colors making it friendly to knitters who are new to colorwork knitting. Once the round yoke is complete, the sleeve stitches are separated from the body and placed on holders. The body and sleeves are then worked in stockinette stich to the hem/cuffs which are knit in a 1x1 rib. The cardigan is also knit in the round utilizing a steek with knit-on button/buttonhole bands. Helpful links are referenced throughout the pattern.
