Acheron is a knitted color work beanie starting at the brim and working it’s way up. The color work for this hat creates a Death’s-head Hawkmoth, of the genus Acherontia.

This pattern uses two colors of yarn. For the smaller size, you will need about 150 yards of each colors & 175 yards for the larger.

The cable in this pattern is very simple and a great way to learn cabling if you have been hesitant, previously.

The color work starts simple with the living stripes and then opens up to the beautiful hawkmoth. It returns to stripes and then you will start decreases that make a fun effect with the colors. You are welcome to add a fun pompom to this hat, as well. I think it would be a great addition.
