The name of this pattern means “Dragon Wing” because the shape draws its inspiration from the curved wing of a mighty dragon. Worked side to side, the scarf is constructed from alternating stocking stitch triangles, shaped with short rows and ended with an Estonian Braid, and mesh rectangles, with garter stitch borders at each end.

When worked to pattern tension of 24 sts and 34 rows to 4”/10cm over stocking stitch, the finished scarf measures 12”/30cm deep. The outer long edge is 71”/180cm and the inner edge 33 ½”/85cm. Exact tension is not vital but will affect the finished size and yardage requirements.

You will need up to 525 yards/480m fingering weight yarn, 3.5mm (US4) knitting needles, a darning needle

You need to be able to: work basic increases and decreases

The pattern is fully written (no charts).
