Aiko is a sleeveless top that is dainty and graceful, and provides enjoyable knitting for knitters of any skill level. It has a simple straight and unusual construction that does not require any shaping, and that creates a result between the tank top and the tee shirt. Two pieces are worked sideways and the magic happens when the pieces are joined together to form a stunning top. The pattern is highly adaptable - you can cast on almost any number of stitches and work any number of rows to create the exact size you want. The pattern includes 17 sizes, from 2T to 66”, as there is no age or size required for feeling elegant!

To achieve the perfect size, you can…

  • Cast on more or less stitches to change the length of the top - it can be made as a crop top, a regular top, or even as a dress!
  • Work more or less rows on each piece to get the exact width you want. It can be made as a fitted top (with just a little bit of positive ease) or as a poncho (with lots of positive ease).
