Mirrored columns of gracefully winding cables add drama to a classic vest silhouette. Finished with a garter rib collar band slightly raised at the back neck to ward off the chill, this vest is sure to be a favorite wardrobe staple.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Bust - 32 (34¾, 37¾, 40¾, 43¾, 46¾)(49½, 52½, 55½, 58, 61)“, buttoned.
Intended to be worn with 2-4” of ease.

YARN: 790 (860, 930, 970, 1055, 1115)(1200, 1245, 1330, 1390, 1470) yds DK weight wool or wool blend.

NEEDLES: U.S. size 6 (4mm) 32” (80cm) or longer circular needle.
Circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches.
Adjust needle size as needed to obtain correct gauge.

OTHER: Cable needle, stitch holders, removable stitch markers, extra needle in same size for 3-needle bind off, tapestry needle.
Five ⅝“ (16mm) buttons.

GAUGE: 22 sts/31 rows = 4” in stockinette, blocked.
63 sts = 7¾“ wide in Cable Pattern, blocked.
22 sts/39 rows = 4” in Garter Rib.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. Techniques include long tail cast on, cables, German short rows, 3-needle bind off, decreasing in cable pattern, picking up stitches, and buttonholes.

CONSTRUCTION: Back and fronts are knit separately from the bottom up. Shoulders are shaped with short rows and joined with 3-needle bind off. Stitches are picked up for the button band and collar, which is shaped with short rows. Stitches are picked up for the armhole trim. Sides are seamed.
