All Round to Granny’s Cushion pattern: A step by step guide to making your own retro granny round cushion in any dk yarn we have used Stylecraft special DK and the colours are listed for the shades we have used but any dk yarn will do. A 7 Page pattern with a photo tutorial in a handy PDF format!
Please note yarn quantities will vary depending on where tiny place your shades in each round, we have listed Stylecraft as 5 balls but we didn’t use full balls.
Gauge is not important for this project our gauge is measured over the rounds, for the stitches we count the gap between our trebles as 3 stitches in order to calculate an accurate as possible stitch gauge. You can easily work more on less rounds to alter the size of your cushion. We used an 18” round cushion pad.
A place I have visited a lot with my children over the years is the boat museum near where we live. It is full of colourful barges which have small cabins that are decorated with brightly painted pots and pans and colourful crochet cushions. The inspiration for my granny round cushion comes from here, I hope you will enjoy making it as much as I loved creating it. Happy Crocheting!

Skill level is beginner to intermediate

The pattern is written in U.K. terms with US terms for ease of conversion. You will need to be familiar with the following stitches, double crochet (US sc), treble (US dc ), chain and double crochet (US sc) through front and back loops. There is also some treble cluster stitches but instructions are given for these under “Special Stitches used “.
