Knit this gorgeous textured triangle shawl from the top down! It looks complex, but none of the stitches used are very complicated. This simple triangle can be knit up in just one or two skeins of Malabrigo Yarn Sock or a similar soft sock yarn of equal yardage, but you can make it larger easily if you’ve got more yarn and ambition.
The files available in your pattern purchase include the main .PDF and a photo tutorial for the unique cast-on, which I like quite a bit as an alternative to traditional shawl tabs and other cast-on approaches.
Materials:
- 1-2 skeins or about 300-880 yards of Malabrigo Yarn Sock
- 1 24-48” circular needle in US4-6/3.25-4.0mm, or size needed for gauge.
- Tapestry needle
- 1 2.25mm crochet hook for cast on
- Removable stitch marker
Gauge:
Gauge is 18 sts and 40 rows over 4”/10cm of blocked garter stitch, worked flat. Please be sure to check your gauge.
Measurements:
This shawl measures about 43.5(75)“/1.1(1.9)m across the wingspan, and roughly 18(32)”/45(81)cm deep through the center point. The sample shown is the smaller version. It’s very easy to customize this shawl to your individual preferences.
