Amadora’s traditional meaning is ‘the gift of love’. I like to think that this hat with its cheery Love heart design will be perfect for sharing some love.

All the variations use the same colourwork chart, the position of the solid hearts is determined by the starting row on the chart.

All samples are made with approximately 60-90 metres/65-100 yards each, of both the main and contrast colours.

Needles – 4mm (US6) and 3.25mm (US3) in your favourite style for working in the round, or size needed to attain gauge
4.5mm (US7) in your favourite style for working in the round if you find your colourwork is tight
A crochet hook in any size for working the magic circle cast on.

Gauge: 23sts & 26 rows = 10cm (4 inches) on 4mm needles in stocking stitch

Knitting skills required: knit, purl, increase, using 2 colours in a stranded pattern on the same round
This pattern is suitable for an adventurous beginner.

The pattern has been successfully test knit in all sizes.
