Ameliena is worked in Drops Delight and features lace loops, a variation of Broomstick crochet. Two sizes of “broomsticks” are used, 15mm and 25mm. These can be either knitting needles, pieces of dowl or very strong cardboard.

The cowl is worked in the round, and the beginning and end tails of the scarf can be incorporated into the (optional) fringe, so there are very few ends to weave in.

The cowl can be made from one 50gm ball, and the scarf from two 50gm balls.

The pattern has written instructions only, and uses UK terminology.

Skills required: double crochet, foundation double crochet, trebles, working in the round, broomstick crochet, fringing (optional)
