Nautical crochet baby hats…what could be cuter? I’ve worked several craft shows, and people are always looking for hats that are either a) for little boys, or b) gender neutral. This hat fits both categories, and it’s very easy to make!

The hat is a beanie worked in hdc, and instructions are given for both wide and thin stripes. You work the anchor separately and sew it onto the hat to give it that adorable sailor look. Instructions for both the hat and the anchor are written out in an easy-to-read, easy-to-follow format, and in case the anchor is a little intimidating, I’ve included a photo tutorial.

I recommend this pattern to ANY crocheter, whether you’re just getting started or you know your way around a hook. It’s easy enough for a relative beginner to understand but fun enough that an experienced crocheter won’t get bored! If you like this hat, keep an eye open for the matching bib, coming out this month!
