A friend of mine (who is the namesake of this pattern) once asked me to make him a slouchy hat that “has stripes like on Charlie Brown’s shirt and a big puff ball on top.” Since the hat was first made years ago, I have received many requests from friends, family, and strangers for a hat of their own. Eventually, I wrote down the pattern to share with other knitters!

The multi-color stockinette chevron stripes are something rarely seen on knitted garments, making it very unique! The two color stranding technique used is simple enough for knitters that are just beginning colorwork while still being engaging enough for an experienced knitter. The pattern has both written and charted instructions for the colorwork around the hat.
