This is a PDF pattern with written instructions for a puff stitch hat and a version without puff stitches.

Ansome is an ‘at pattern that is essentially two hats in one. Both hats start with the same
pattern but end up as two different styles

Materials
● John Arbon Textiles Devonia, DK, 100% Devon wool (50% Exmoor Blueface, 30%
Bluefaced Leicester, 20% Wensleydale), 255yds/233m/100g.
1x 100g skein in Wood Smoke (YA),
1x 25g mini skeins in the following shades:
Bleeding Heart (YB)
Pollen Gold (YC)
Broken Flower (YD)
Cinder Glow (YE)
Sage Sprig (YF)
For the plain striped hat I used Pebble Brook for the ribbing.
● 3.75 mm (US F/5) hook
● Stitch markers (optional). Use them to mark the beginning
of a round.
Tension: 19.5 stitches and 15 rows measure 10cm of half treble sts.

Notes
● This pattern is worked top down.
● This pattern is written in UK terms.
● The amount of yarn above makes both hats
but you will need an extra mini of the main
colour for the plain pom pom. However,
there is plenty of yarn to make a multi
colour pompom.
● Puff st sections use up to 20m of yarn approx.
