The feminine name Anwyn is of Welsh origin and it means ‘beautiful and fair’. I’ve always loved this unusual name and kept it on my list of possible pattern names since I was sure that one day I will find its perfect match. I believe this pretty cardigan is just that.

In keeping with the original inspiration, I created cable panels reminiscent of Celtic designs with added bits of interesting openwork and fun, no-turn bobbles, which I developed for this design. These intricately textured panels are mirrored on the fronts and the sleeves, while the back features an extra wide panel at the center.

Anwyn has a flattering V-neck, comfortable positive ease and longer length, which can be easily customized. The sweater is worked seamlessly from the bottom up with raglan yoke shaping and picked-up button bands, leaving very little finishing at the end.
