Arm Knit Infinity Cowl

Knitting
Super Bulky (5-6 wpi) ?
arm knitting
250 - 370 yards (229 - 338 m)
12 (13, 15") [30.5 (33, 38 cm)] wide; 62" (157.5 cm) long

A simple shift in scale can completely transform traditional knitting. Playing with yarn size and weight will result in a range of styles, from a lighter scarf perfect for the shoulder season to an impossibly cozy cowl for diving into in the depths of winter.

Materials:

  • Slim cowl: 348 yds (318 m) of ‘slim’ super-bulky yarn in four lengths of 87 yds (79.5 m) (traditionally 2.75 st per in; ex. Purl Soho Super Soft Merino)
  • Mid cowl: 270 yds (247 m) of ‘mid’ super-bulky yarn in three lengths of 90 yds (82 m) (traditionally 2.25-2.5 st per in; blue example in Madelinetosh ASAP)
  • Big cowl: 270 yds (247 m) of ‘big’ super-bulky yarn in three lengths of 90 yds (82 m) (traditionally 1.75-2 st per in; white example in Blue Sky Alpaca Bulky)
