Asbury Park is an asymmetrical, triangular-shaped shawl with a lace edge reminiscent of waves. The shawl is worked flat with a lace edge on one side. Since the lace edging is also worked in garter stitch, the shawl is reversible. The shawl pattern as written is designed for one skein of fingering weight yarn (approximately 410 yards). This shawl is perfect for that really special skein of yarn. Asbury Park is a great project for beginners. The lace pattern is easy to memorize without any complicated knitting stitches. With the pattern starting at one end, the length can be easily modified to be longer or shorter.
