This is an advanced beginner to intermediate level PDF crochet pattern. It is written in English and in US terminology. The pattern includes detailed instructions and pictures for the different techniques used. It explains how to read the flower graphs for the colourwork. The dress is worked from the top down and uses mostly half double crochet as well as single crochet and Romanian chord stitches. Since the non-working yarn is always being carried, there are not as many ends to weave in as you might first think. The pattern also comes with a lookbook of my testers’ adorable versions of the dress.

The Astrid flower dress is a flowy, whimsical, and very wearable dress. Twirling around in it is lots of fun! It is very comfortable to wear and perfect for layering.

The pattern is graded for sizes 1 year, 2 years, 4 years, 6 years, 8 years and 10 years. The sizes thereby correspond to chest sizes 46-71 cm or 18.5-28 inches. The dress has between 16-18 cm (6.3-7.1”) of positive ease around the widest part of the chest depending on what size you choose. The gauge for the pattern in half double crochet stitches is 18 stitches x 13 rows (10x10 cm or 4x4 inches). If you don’t know how to make a gauge swatch, this is explained in the pattern.

The materials needed are:
✿ 3.5 mm crochet hook (or hook to meet the gauge)
✿ Super fine (weight 1) cotton yarn:
-some yarn suggestions: DROPS Safran, Friends Cotton 8/4
-If you want to make the dress longer you will need more yarn
