This pattern is intended for an intermediate crochet skill level (or an advanced beginner). This cardigan was designed in Trinidad, a sunny tropical island in the Caribbean also known as Trinidad
and Tobago. This cardigan consists of a back panel, two front panels & 2 sleeves that will be worked separately then they will all be joined together. Lastly, a border will be worked around this cardigan. I have sectioned this pattern into 4 parts to make this understandable for you. In this pattern, there is some measuring involved to ensure a perfectly custom fit. You can use any weight 3 LIGHT or weight 4 MEDIUM yarn. However, Cotton yarn is recommended for this project as it doesn’t stretch as much while
wearing & keeps its shape over time. I used weight 3 light Lion Brand Coboo 50% Bamboo & 50% Cotton yarn. I recommend that you read through the pattern first to familiarize yourself with the process before beginning.

This gauge is for reference. If you want your cardigan to have the crochet tension shown in pictures here on this pattern, you can try to match your gauge as close as you can. Don’t worry too much if it isn’t perfect as everyone has a different tension they use with their yarn. But I do suggest trying your best to keep your
tension consistently the same throughout the pattern. Don’t worry if you are having a bit of trouble. I had trouble keeping the tension consistent as I had to get used to it after some time of frogging over and over.It is all part of the learning process! Remember, time spent learning is never time wasted!
