Auber is the fifth of the Seven Songs. Named after the French composer Daniel Auber and his Les diamants de la couronne, for the beautiful diamond motifs in the pattern.

This shawlette is worked from the bottom up and is finished with an applied edging along the top. There are cables in between the diamonds, which are filled with little Estonian stitch patterns. The diamond-garter edging along the sides is worked at the same time - all in one piece.
