The avocado is 3.25 inches (8.255 cm) long x 2.75 inches (6.985 cm) wide.
The cat is 2 inches wide, 2 inches long, not including the tail.

sc: single crochet
dc: double crochet
hdc: half double crochet
sl st: slip stitch
tr: triple crochet
dec: decrease (video instructions included).
inc: increase.
blo: back loop only (video instructions included).
flo: front loop only
