I will arise and go now, and go to Aylesbury,
And sit in the armchair in my room there,
And dream my designs,
And create gorgeous knitted ware.
And I will have lots of peace there,
For I will be far from the ambulance sirens,
Wailing as they rush Covid 19 patients to hospitals nearby here;
Instead listen to the chirping of the all the birds sing.
There darkness sets at 2 in the afternoon,
And the dawn is wondrous splendour.
I will arise and go now, for always night and day,
I will get my grandson’s hugs,
And the sweetest baby kisses as I lay.
My bed beckons: on it’s softness will I rest,
And awake to eat garlic bread, fish & chips,
And yummy baked Chicken Kiev.
I will see clear brilliant blue unpolluted skies,
Hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
Admire the ducks on long nature walks,
While I ponder the vagaries of this pandemic
And praise God that I survived it in September.
I will arise and go now,
For wishes are horses & beggars may dream,
Till 2022 there’s no flights for the high risk group like me.
I close my eyes & see fields of daffodils,
And if winter comes, I know,
Spring is in the deep heart’s core.

In the words of the younger gen, they’re cool!!! They are comfortably stylish. Indulge your sensory perceptions. Dazzle the world with your creation. Inspire others to fashion which feels just right! These socks were knit with yarn from my stash. People say they have a Second Sock Syndrome. After a lot of pondering I have concluded that for some it may be the First Sock Syndrome! So to take away the dread & get you addicted to knitting socks, I designed a gorgeous pattern to be created on 2 straight needles :D I take you through an internalized journey, with a scintillating Japanese Lace Pattern adapted from the Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible.
I am with you as you overcome the First Sock Syndrome!!!
