This hat was designed in honor of my amazing Nana, whose birth name was Azelma (she went by Marcia…can’t say I blame her!).

My nana passed away from complications of Alzheimer’s when I was 22 years old, but her mind had been gone much longer than that.

Designing and knitting this hat in her honor was incredibly emotional yet heart-warming. I hope you can share in her love of knitting when you knit your own hat!

This hat is knit with two strands of fingering weight yarn held double, which adds to the beauty of the simple textured design.
