What a treat! A little knitted baby giraffe.

These baby giraffes have jointed fairisle legs. Their lushious mane and plaited tails use just little bits and pieces of yarn. In fact you’ll only need 30g for each giraffe to knit their bodies, and less than 10g of each contrast colour. It uses up odds and ends from your knitting basket. Shown here in a variety of colours of baby cashmerino, but you can substitute any DK yarn.*

This pattern is suitable for knitters with a little bit of experience of using techniques for working with more than one colour.

A wonderful knitting pattern to download today.

NB. go down 1 needle size from that suggested on the band. This makes the fabric stiffer, and less likely to bag. Also, a high cotton yarn isn’t a good substitute as there’s a lot of shaping in the face, so you need the flexibility of a stretchy yarn.
