This lightweight scarf or stole features highly embossed stitch patterns that pass from openwork to solid twist stitch and back again as they undulate along its length. The patterning shows off well in a heavy laceweight yarn with some shine to highlight the curving linear elements. While the stitch work is constantly moving and requires a bit of attention, the wrong side rows are worked entirely in knit and purl. The results are worth the effort and sure to attract notice, as the final fabric is rich with texture, but light as air.

Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size and drape.
