~~~~Be bright, sunny and positive. Spread seeds of happiness. Rise, shine, and hold your head high.~~~~
This bright and cheery yarn from Malabrigo is the color of happiness! It reminds me of the sun, sunflowers and happy sunny Summer days. Sunflowers stand up tall and follow the sun, facing East in the morning and then turning with the sun as it moves to the West, letting the shadows fall behind them.
Be Like a Sunflower is crocheted from side to side and starts with a few stitches and ends with a few stitches. This scarf is a one-skein project, using a skein of fingering or sock weight yarn of at least 420 yards.
The stitch pattern is a simple four-row repeat for the first section and a two-row repeat for the second section, and forms a shallow crescent shape. The bottom edge of the scarf forms a gently-scalloped edge that appears as you crochet through the rows.
And, when you are finished you have this lovely shape with pretty scallops on the bottom edge, and only two ends to sew in!
I used one skein of Malabrigo Mechita yarn in the color “Frank Ochre”.
So, just take a dive into your yarn stash and find your favorite “happy” color and enjoy an easy one-skein project!
