This hat is designed to be a free instructional project to introduce beginning knitters to working in the round. It uses both a circular needle and double-pointed needles, and gives special attention to joining in the round and switching to double-pointed needles. Tidy paired decreases shape the crown and an optional pompom can be added once the hat is finished.

STITCHES & TECHNIQUES
Knit and purl stitches, ssk and k2tog decreases, and a simple make 1 increase.

FINISHED DIMENSIONS
21 ½” / 55cm circumference at widest part, 8” / 20cm tall from brim to crown

Approx. 165 yards / 151 meters (75g) worsted weight yarn (including pompom)
