Having already made some knitted Christmas cards I couldn’t resist having a garland/ banner to match. You can mix and match penguins and owls… with hats and scarves to make your own personal design.

Full instructions, with lots of photos, for how to assemble your finished garland are included in the pattern. Only uses knit, purl and increasing/ decreasing stitches.

I made mine with double knit (worsted) weight wool, which gives birds about 9cm (3.5 inches) wide by 7cm (2.8 inches) tall. You can use different wool weights to make them bigger or smaller.
