Blame is on the buggy was designed because I couldn’t get enough of the CamaRose Yaku yarn that it is designed in! I also love blanket knitting so combining the two was perfect.

Pattern Notes
A yarn kit is available for this pattern but the yarn use in each stripe has been designed so that mini-skeins can be used. The pattern has a total of 35 stripes.

Finished size: Width: 31 inches, length: 35.5 inches (buggy)

Yarn
Yarn: CamaRose, Yaku 4ply.
Colours used in sample:
Two 50g balls of: MC: Rahvid 1000
One 50g ball each of: C1: Mellengra 1060, C2: Lysrosa 1800, C3: Hindboer 1220, C4: Magenta 1704, C5: Morkellia 1823, C6: Sennegul 1990 and C7: Turkis 1996.

100% super wash merino wool, 200 meters (218 yards) per 50g ball.

Yarn Substitution
CamaRose Yaku is a smoothly-spun, 100% superwash merino wool that has beautiful stitch definition. Each 50g ball has 200 meters of yarn. It is machine washable at 30 degrees which is one of the reason it was chosen for this buggy blanket pattern. I plan to make one in Baa Ram Ewe Pip colourwork, although that is definitely not machine washable. Each stripe uses less than 10g of CamaRose Yaku. For the white stripes, over 50g but under 100g of yarn was used. Socks Yeah 4ply may also be a good substitute yarn as it is also machine washable. When substituting other yards, swatching is recommended to ensure that the required blanket size is achieved and to ensure sufficient yarn is purchased for the project.
