Boho Rainbow Squares Blanket
NOW ALSO AVAILABLE IN DUTCH from Een Mooi Gebaar.
I hope there is enough detail in my little pattern, I’ve not written one out before. If not please do message me.
I have added a few updates as there were things I missed off, so please do check you have the latest update.
PLEASE NOTE - I have literally just put on the pattern how I made my blanket, and the way I do things may not suit everyone or give the same results. I guess it depends on your crochet style, tension etc. but it is the way I have found works best for me. I would advise making a practice square or two to see if it works for you. It will probably work just as well and look the same made with traditional solid squares.
You can also use the colour charts to make any squares with 6-7 rounds you like, granny squares, Lucy Attic24’s Harmony style squares, etc.
The colour wash effect in this blanket is based upon the Summer Harmony blanket by Lucy at Attic24. I have however used different colours, a different style solid square block rather than the harmony style block, and have moved things around quite a bit.
I have used colours inspired by knit wear and patchwork quilts designed by Kaffe Fassett.
Requires 17 balls of Stylecraft Special DK – one ball each of: Lavender – Violet – Plum –- Magenta - Fuchsia Purple – Pomegranate – Tomato – Spice – Gold – Mustard – Lime – Pistachio – Meadow – Cyprus – Sage – Storm Blue – Denim - my blanket weighs 1,287 grams, so you’ll have some left overs.
It is made from slightly adapted solid squares, 100 in total, 10 rows of 10. I used a 3.50 mm hook because I crochet quite loose and wanted them quite tight, but a 4.00mm may suit you better.
