This light and airy shawlette will be the perfect accessory for the summer. Although the BC Garn Silkbloom Extra Fino is discontinued you still may find it - perhaps in your stash! Otherwise, choose your favorite laceweight yarn. All the pattern requires is a single skein.

The construction is a bit unusual: it’s worked from the top down, but starts with a cast-on of a few dozen stitches. It grows from there, with increases at both ends of every row until you begin the Old Shale pattern.

Using a stretchy bind-off the Old Shale pattern forms points at the bottom edge.

This is an attractive and easy-to-wear piece, as the eyelet section grows to form a comfortable hug on the shoulders.

I hope you enjoy the knit!
