Breukelen is a fascinating design with lots of details and neat finishing. The sweater is knitted seamlessly from top down with two strands of yarn a sport weight merino and a lace weight alpaca held together throughout the pattern. Breukelen features steeked openings for the roomy pocket and a flap knit continuously from the main body. Tuck stitches decorate the foldable collar and cuffs. An i-cord hem adds a nice touch. The dense, warm fabric and folded, high collar keep you warm and cosy throughout the winter.

MATERIALS
Yarn:
MC1: 6 (7, 7, 8, 8) (9, 9, 10, 11) skeins of Ulysse by De Rerum Natura (100% French Merino, 202 yds / 185 m 50 g), colourway Goéland.

Or approx. 1096 (1224, 1322, 1451, 1564) (1692, 1821, 1934, 2048) yds / 1002 (1119, 1209, 1326, 1430) (1547, 1665, 1768, 1872) m of non-superwash sport weight yarn, appropriate for steeking.

MC2: 6 (6, 7, 7, 8) (8, 9, 10, 10) skeins of Indiecita by Filcolana (100% alpaca, 175 yds / 160 m 50 g), colourway 401.

Or approx. 927 (1036, 1119, 1228, 1324) (1432, 1541, 1637, 1733) yds / 848 (947, 1023, 1122, 1210) (1309, 1409, 1496, 1584) m of non-superwash fingering weight yarn, appropriate for steeking.

CC: 1 skein of Ulysse by De Rerum Natura (100% French Merino, 202 yds / 185 m 50 g), colourway Fusain.

Or approx. 117 (117, 117, 117, 117) (202, 202, 202, 202) yds / 107 (107, 107, 107, 107) (185, 185, 185, 185) m of sport weight yarn.

MC yarns are held together throughout except for the knit facing flaps. A non-superwash heavy DK weight or light worsted weight yarn is also a possible substitute for MC. For CC, use a thinner yarn than your MC yarns to obtain the Tuck Stitch gauge.

Please note that the yarn used for the knit facing flaps (MC1) is thinner than the yarn used for the body so if you do substitute for another yarn, use a thinner non-superwash yarn to knit the facing flaps and to secure the steeked edge. Approx. 32 yds / 29 m of sport weight yarn is used. This yarn can also be used to graft and sew the pocket lining.

Needles:
US 6 / 4 mm 16 / 40 cm, 24 / 60 cm and 32 / 80 cm circular needles and DPNS, US 4 / 3.5 mm 16 / 40 cm and 32 / 80 cm circular needles and a spare DPN for the knit facing. Or needle sizes to obtain gauge.
