The Brioche Knit Style BlanketPattern is a repeating pattern of 3D geometric squares surrounded by a border. While not a true Brioche stitch (this is a one-sided pattern), this blanket is pleasantly thick and squishy, with a very mid-century modern, sophisticated look.

Information on how to adapt the pattern for size are included. Picture 3 is an example of a pillow cover, made by modifying the pattern to be 2 x 2 squares.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate/Advanced. (This pattern involves repeated horizontal chain stitches, which will probably be new to most loop yarn knitters).

SUGGESTED MATERIALS: 6 balls of Bernat Alize Blanket-EZ Yarn (6.4oz, 180g) (Image shown is the colour ‘Dijon’).

SUGGESTED TOOLS: No needles required (finger knitting). Scissors.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Approx. 44” x 46” (111.5 cm x 117 cm)

PLEASE NOTE: This pattern will work with any brand of loop yarn, but keep in mind that the size of the loops, and size of the balls/skeins of each brand is different.

Lion Brand Off-The-Hook, Lion Brand Crayola Off-The-Hook, Red Heart Loop-It, and Alize Puffy yarns can all be used with this pattern, but will yield a blanket with smaller overall dimensions. You will also need more balls/skeins to complete the pattern as is.
