Even though I am a grown woman (married & a mother) I still sleep with an army of stuffed animals. They keep me company when my husband is out of town, they act as a resting spot for my shoulders and neck, and they a never too far when I need that familiar cuddle.

Brown Bear (as he is know to me) came to life at one of those “make it yourself” stuffed animal factories long before I had children of my own. It seemed like a fun thing to do one afternoon and I cannot resist a cuddly face. After he was made I went looking around the store for something to dress him in and found that the bear clothing was way too much for my little wallet.

I assured the bear that he would not be naked forever and when we came home I started working on his very own sweater (and lets keep in mind that not even my husband of 10 years has a hand-knitted sweater).

This is a very easy project knit in four pieces (back, front, two sleeves) and then the neck (if you so desire) is picked up and knit on. It was actually only the third thing I ever tried to knit and when I couldn’t find a pattern that I could understand I made up my own. Any advanced beginner can make this in a jiffy with any sport weight yarn.

The pattern will be sent to you as a PDF file via email, within 48 hours after payment is received (sometimes sooner).
