This lovely cabled cowl will help you remember your little princess before she regularly rolled her eyes at you. And it might even help you forget that one time she woke up with bubble gum in her hair. The Bubble Gum in her hair Cowl is knit flat and is finished with a seam (or use a provisional cast on and graft the edges together). Or leave it unseamed and wear it as a scarf. Use either worsted weight yarn or sport weight yarn; the pattern includes directions for both weights. Written directions and charts are also provided.

Sizes: Short (Long) = 21 (50)” circumference and 6.5 (6.5)” tall, but easily customizable.
Skill Level: Intermediate. You must be able (or be willing to learn) to knit cables and do a teeny tiny bit of seaming or grafting.

If using Worsted Weight Yarn:
Gauge in stockinette—For Worsted: 20 sts = 4”.
Gauge in pattern—For Worsted: 30 sts = 4”. (Cable knitting makes a fabric that is more dense. Therefore, the fabric will have a much tighter gauge.)
Materials needed
Yarn: 200—440 yds (185— 405m) worsted weight yarn.
Needles: US size 7 (4.5 mm) needles. Or other needle size to obtain gauge.
Notions: Cable needle, tapestry needle, stitch markers (optional).

If using Sport Weight Yarn:
Gauge in stockinette—For Sport: 24 sts = 4”
Gauge in pattern—For Sport: 40 sts = 4” (Cable knitting makes a fabric that is more dense. Therefore, the fabric will have a much tighter gauge.)
Materials Needed
Yarn: 275—650 yds (250—600 m) sport weight yarn.
Needles: US size 4 (3.5 mm) needles. Or other needle size to obtain gauge.
Notions: Cable needle, tapestry needle, stitch markers (optional).
