Sometimes a gorgeous skein of yarn brings to mind an entire project!

Buttercup is the result of such inspiration, with a unique floral “buttercup” edging blooming from a simple mistake-rib field.

The shawl is knit from the bottom up and shaped into a gentle crescent with short rows. If you prefer a simpler knit, however, directions are provided for a scarf shaped without short rows.

I hope you’ll find this shawlette fun to knit and a pleasure to wear.

Pattern can be knit from charts or written directions.

Happy Knitting!
