Butterfly Shoulder Shawl is the first in a series of shoulder shawls using dk/worsted weight yarn. It required almost all of the yardage of 5 skeins of Cascade 220 Superwash Merino.
The back and fronts are knit separately. Then stitches are picked up along the angled sides. Short rows fill in at the bottom of the pieces. Side panels match the stitch pattern of fronts and back. The side panels and joined using either 3 needles bind off or Kitchener stitch.
A stand up collar and bottom garter edging finish the shawl.
