My mom’s favorite flower is a tulip. In Florida, they don’t grow quite like they do in cooler places, so we can buy them on Mother’s Day, but they don’t usually last very long. Over the last few years, I have tried to give my mom tulips that won’t die.

I plan to make a throw pillow, but the square can also be used to create a blanket.

Materials:

  • Worsted Weight Yarn - I used Red Heart’s Super Saver in White, Cherry Red and Tea Leaf, and Bernat’s Super Value in Topaz
  • H8/5mm Crochet Hook
  • Tapestry Needle

Yards - Only the 14” and 16” squares have been tested:

  • 14” square requires 190 yards of yarn total, and 16” requires 230 yards.
  • It’s estimated that the 22” requires 380 yards, and the 24” requires 500 yards.

Yarn Alternatives:
Caron’s One Pound, Bernat’s Super Value.

Time Spent:
Just over three hours for the 14” size.
