This beautiful cable and lace sweater has a simple lace panel on the front with cables on either side. The front and back has matching lace and cable design. There is a cable up each sleeve.

The sweater is knit in four pieces (front, back, sleeves) and then sewn together.

The sample was knit with arran weight wool and 5mm needles. The weight of the yarn makes this a fairly quick sweater to knit. The lace on the front of the sweater makes it a bit more breathable so less warm combatting the heaviness of the arran and warmth of the wool.

The sample in the photos was knit with Jamieson’s of Shetland arran in size X-Small with Mulberry colour. The pattern has instructions for sizes X-Small (Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, XX-Large) with corresponding sweater bust measurements of 37” (41”, 45”, 49”, 53”, 57”). The number of skeins for each size are: 8 (9, 10, 10, 11, 12), a skein equals 50 grams of 110m (120 yards).

Although the sample was knit with Jamieson’s of Shetland arran wool, other fibres such as cotton or alpaca would also suite this sweater design.

Hope you enjoy the pattern! Happy knitting!
