Candy Kisses is a striped baby blanket that uses stockette stripes combined with textured wider stripes. It is squishy and simple to knit.

Skills needed: Knit, Purl

Worsted Weight yarn is recommended with size US8 needles to reach a gauge of 18 stitches = 4”, or 4.5 stitches to the inch. Acrylic, Cotton and Washable Wool all work well.

How much yarn should you buy?
Using worsted weight yarn and assuming a gauge of 4.5 stitches to the inch:

(estimates are approximate, depending on your tension and gauge)

Stroller: 250 yards solid, 350 yards multicolored for 22 x 28
 Baby: 300 yards solid, 450 yards multicolored for 28 x 36
 Small: 500 yards solid, 650 yards multicolored for 38 x 42
 Medium: 750 yards solid, 900 yards multicolored for 48 x 60
 Large: 1000 yards solid, 1200 yards multicolored for 60 x 80

Gauge is not important. If you are a looser knitter, the blanket will be light and airy. If tighter, then denser and warmer. The knitter may want to go up or down a size in needles if they would like to change the drape of the blanket.

Worsted Weight yarn is recommended but DK works well and so does cotton. For DK yarn you will want to go up a size or even 2 in the directions to get the size you want.
