The Cedar Creek Beanie is an advanced beginner pattern that is worked from bottom up and is customizable to fit any size. The inspiration behind this design is the lovely Cedar Trees that grow in our Southern California Mountains. Their splendor is evident during any hike in the area. They survive the hot dry summers and moderate snow and rain fall in winters. They are truly majestic and resilient.

The pattern provides full sizing instructions, how to make the beanie taller or slouchier for preferences. Instructions start with ribbing in turning rows then switches to turned rounds for the body of the pattern.

The stitch pattern is the beautiful Feather Stitch and the pattern has photo tutorial and a sample video of the stitch.

This pattern has been tested by proficient fellow crocheters, as listed within.

Pattern is written for Worsted/medium weight yarn. For the typical adult size (20-22 inch circumference) the testers used about 200-230 yards of yarn. It requires two hooks - 6mm for brim and 5.5mm for body of beanie. (There is a gauge for reference.)
