The birds on the front of the cushion cover are based on the Celtic design for peacocks, a bird that symbolised purity and incorruptibility.

Worked in stocking stitch the cover requires 4 50gm balls.It is knitted in one piece starting with a small band of rib, stocking stitch for the main section, and finishing with another band of rib.

The birds are created with an I-cord, and a combination of embroidery stitches worked with the yarn. Each stitch is explained in the pattern leaflet and the birds are shown in diagram form as an aid to completion.

To make up the side seams are joined together.
