This classic fingerless mitten pattern uses a combination of braided cables and twisted rib to create texture and dimension. A band of twisted rib on the side and back of the mitt is used to create a thumb gusset that sits in an anatomically correct position.

Correction: I have corrected the setup rows for the palm to make the number of stockinette stitches 16 (18) instead of the incorrect 15 (17).
