This pattern gives instructions for three different designs of fun puppet mittens for children - Teddy, Panda and Cat. Each design is available in three sizes, to fit children from 2 to 7 years old.

The mittens are knitted flat and seamed. Buttons are used for eyes, but if knitting for small children you may prefer to replace these with embroidered features for safety.

MATERIALS
DK yarn (varies with design and colours used, but less than 50g total for a pair in the largest size)
A pair of 3.25mm knitting needles
Safety pins
Buttons
Tapestry needle

Age 2-3 (4-5, 6-7) years
Length 6 (7, 7.25) inches
Width around hand above thumb 5 (5.25, 5.25) inches

GAUGE
22 sts and 30 rows to 4” or 10cm
